Activation Keys for LOGIN-BASED licenses
Steps:
If you receive an Activation Key for a login-based license then please do the following:
- Go to the 'Activate a product' page on our website and enter your Activation Key. The entitlement will then be added to your website account in the Login Licenses page. The product will in appear in your Login Licenses.
- If you've not already done so, download the product from the website Product Downloads page and install it on your machine.
- Activate the product on your machine by following the relevant instructions from the Login based Licensing section of the Support Portal
Activation Keys for NODELOCKED licenses
Using the website
You can activate and install your license via our website using the following steps:
- Go to the 'Activate a product' page on our website and enter your Activation Key
- Enter the System ID of the machine you wish to use the product on (see Q100002: What is the System ID and how do I find it? for help on finding the SystemID) and the website will then generate your license
- Install the license by following these instructions Q100026: How to install a nodelocked license
Activation Key for FLOATING licenses
Steps:
If you receive an Activation Key for a floating or collective license then we recommend using the website to create your license file. Please do the following:
- Go to the 'Activate a product' page on our website and enter your Activation Key
- Enter the System ID of your license server machine (See Q100002: What is the System ID and how do I find it? for help on finding the SystemID) and the website will then generate your license
- Install the license and server tools by following the instructions in Q100027: How to install a floating/server license
NOTE: You can use an Activation Key for a floating license directly from the product licensing dialog to install the floating license. However, this will install the license on that machine (which may not be your license server) and you will also need to install the Foundry Licensing Tools to make the license work. Please also be aware that this will not work with collective licenses.
