MORE INFORMATION
Removing old/expired licenses is beneficial in many ways. The situations where this guide could be helpful are:
- You have expired licenses that you would like to remove.
- You have recently renewed your license and would like to start a fresh install.
- You want to point to a different server machine.
-
You have recently transferred your license and License Transfer Request Form requires that: "You must delete this license key from the old machine within 2 days of receiving the new license key."
This guide will explain how to remove your licenses both manually and by using the FLU.
Using the FLU
The FLU 8 or above can be used to locate the path where the licenses are installed. To find the license location:
-
Launch the FoundryLicensingUtility
- Click on Licenses on the left-hand panel then click View Installed
-
To find the license file for any products, hover over the product and click on it.
- This will display the license details, the license file path is under License Install Location. You can click on this to open the file explorer to the location.
- To remove the license, please delete the .lic file. By default licenses have the following file name:
-
- node-locked license -
foundry.lic
- floating license -
foundry_float.lic
- client licenses -
foundry_client.lic.
- node-locked license -
