SYMPTOMS
When launching Nuke or Mari and attempting to install a login-based license, you may see the following "No Licenses Found" error.
This error occurs during application startup and can happen for multiple reasons, including but not limited to:
- Launching the product in a mode that is not compatible with your license
- License expiry
- Incorrect license file
- Payment synchronization issues
This article focuses on the first point and explains how to launch the correct version of the product for your license type.
CAUSE
When you see the "No Licenses Found" error the first thing to check is that you have valid licenses on your Foundry account (My Account). You can do so by logging into your Foundry account and then navigating to the Login Licenses section.
From here please ensure that the license is listed here and that it has not expired by checking the Expiry Date column.
If you can see a valid license on your Login Licenses tab in the Foundry account (My Account), the next thing to check is if you are launching the product in the correct mode as your license. Foundry products such as Nuke and Mari require different license types depending on the mode you launch it.
- For Mari, the full commercial build requires mari_i license, whereas for Mari Non-commercial, marinc_i is required.
- For Nuke, there are different licenses for different modes of Nuke required which can be found in the article here: Q100106: How does Nuke licensing work?
For example: If you had a Non-commercial license you would need to launch the product in Non-commercial mode, either by using the following shortcut:
Or by launching via command line using the --nc command, more info here: Command Line Operations - Nuke
If you had a Non-commercial license and launched a full build via the icon below:
or launched the product without the --nc flag like in the example below:/Applications/Nuke17.0v1/Nuke17.0v1.app/Contents/MacOS/Nuke17.0
You would see the following screen:
Note: If you are attempting to license the product with a login-based license (using the instructions in these articles: Q100585: How to activate your Individual Login license or Q100660: How to activate your Team Login license) you will see the error screen below:
