SUMMARY
This article explains what Mari's config files are used for and lists their default locations on Windows, Linux, and Mac.
MORE INFORMATION
All changes applied to Mari by the user - be that to Preferences, tool properties, custom shelves, shortcuts, or layout - are stored in files inside a folder called TheFoundry, so that they persist across Mari sessions. Most of these user-applied changes are set on the Mari7.5v1 file (its extension is .ini on Windows and .conf on Linux).
As such, the TheFoundry folder and the Mari7.5v1 file within can be useful for customisation purposes, such as when a studio wants to standardise Mari's Preferences for a whole department. Additionally, if issues with Mari occur, it may be worth renaming one or the other - preferably TheFoundry - so that it can't be found by Mari in its next launch, forcing Mari to recreate it with its default settings.
The default path for these configuration files is:
-
Windows:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\.mari\TheFoundry -
Linux:
/home/<USERNAME>/.config/TheFoundry -
Mac:
/Users/<USERNAME>/.config/TheFoundry
