Q100020: Mari's MariLog.txt file and where to find it

Follow

SUMMARY

This article explains what Mari's log file is used for and lists its default location on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

MORE INFORMATION

The MariLog.txt file reports your current Mari session and gets overwritten every time you reopen Mari. Its output is virtually the same as when using Mari in Verbose Mode, and it can help understand how a user's actions are being processed by Mari.

It is also essential when troubleshooting any issues, as the MariLog.txt typically indicates what led to the problem and reports any errors. If you're reporting a Mari issue to Foundry's Support team, a MariLog.txt file from a session in which the issue occurred should always be sent as part of your ticket.

Remember that as this file is overwritten with each new Mari session, you'll have to rename it or copy it to a separate location, if you'd like to save the report from a specific session.

The default path for the MariLog.txt file is:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\Mari\Logs\MariLog.txt

  • Linux: /home/<USERNAME>/Mari/Logs/MariLog.txt

  • Mac: /Users/<USERNAME>/Mari/Logs/MariLog.txt
