Q100667: Integrating Peregrine Labs' Bokeh tool with Nuke

Foundry has acquired the rights to Peregrine Labs' Bokeh plug-in for Nuke and the pgBokeh node will be integrated within the Nuke family in upcoming releases.

Bokeh is the only commercially available tool for defocus of deep data and has become an essential tool for artists using deep compositing in Nuke.  Additionally, Bokeh offers the ability to simulate the attributes of real-world lenses, enabling artists to achieve highly cinematic depth of field effects.

Bokeh will be integrated within the upcoming Nuke 14 series and Nuke 13.2 releases and be available in Nuke, NukeX, Nuke Studio, Nuke Indie and Nuke Non-commercial to all customers with active licenses from early 2023.

In order to support customers using older versions of Nuke, Peregrine Labs will be offering customers with a current, or recently expired, Bokeh license a one-time free extension until December 31, 2023. Others are eligible to purchase a one-time discounted site license extension valid until December 31, 2023. See the
Peregrine Labs website for full details.

Bokeh for Nuke 13.2 and earlier releases

Any customers with an active Bokeh license, or one that has expired after November 1st, 2022, are eligible for a complimentary extension until December 31st, 2023, which can be requested via Peregrine Labs' Bokeh web page using an associated order number. Once the form has been submitted an extension will be provided as soon as possible – if your license is close to expiration, please reach out via Peregrine Labs' Bokeh web page as soon as possible.

Additionally, a bridging site license valid until December 31st, 2023, will be available to purchase from Peregrine Labs for those who may still need access to legacy releases.  Please note that this is a site license (9999 available licenses) only, there will not be an option to purchase individual bridging licenses.

Foundry will be integrating and supporting Bokeh starting with Nuke 13.2v6+ and Nuke 14.0v2+ across our Nuke family product range. This will be available to all customers with active maintenance from early 2023.

Peregrine Labs will maintain support for Nuke 13.2v5 and earlier releases until December 31st, 2023.
Please use
support@peregrinelabs.com if you have any questions and/or issues regarding the current and legacy builds.

Support for Nuke 13.2v6+ and Nuke 14.0v2+, including any Bokeh questions or issues, will be provided by opening a Support ticket and letting us know the issue you are encountering and the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far. For more information on how to open a support request, please refer to this article: Q100064: How to raise a support ticket

During the transition both teams will work together to ensure clarity and understanding with the aim for as little impact on end users as possible.
