SYMPTOMS
When launching Nuke on macOS, you may encounter the following error:
The application cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-10661 “(null)” UserInfo={_LSLine=4136,_LSFunction=_LSOpenStuffCallLocal}This error code is pictured below:
After selecting OK, Nuke will not open.
CAUSE
This issue is caused by launching an ARM build of Nuke on a macOS machine with Intel hardware. ARM builds of Nuke were introduced with the release of Nuke 15.0v1, and are meant to be used on macOS machines with ARM hardware.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, please do the following:
- Uninstall the currently installed ARM build of Nuke first. For instructions on how to do this, please see the Uninstalling Apps on Mac section of Nuke's online documentation.
- Install the Intel build of the Nuke version you require. This can be downloaded from the Nuke Downloads page.
