Q100587: Licensing Power Translators and Power SubdNurbs from Modo 14.1 and above with Login-licensing

Follow

SUMMARY

Login licensing is now available for Modo's Power Translators and Power SubD-NURBS plugins.  Any foundry.com account that has previously purchased the plugins will now have a login entitlement in the accounts.

NOTE: You may need to deactivate and reactivate Modo on a machine for the licenses to get picked up in Modo 14.1 or above

NOTE: Teams licensing is not supported on Modo 17 for users who use Power Translators and Power SubD-Nurbs plugins.

In the meantime, the following workaround can be used to license the Power Translators and Power SubD-Nurbs plugins with Modo 17: Q100690: How to license Power Translators and PowerSubD-Nurbs in Modo 17 when using a teams license

HOW TO LICENSE POWER TRANSLATORS and POWER SUBD-NURBS FROM MODO 14.1

With the release of Modo 14.1, support for the old Luxology licensing code has been deprecated and Modo 14.1 and above will show an "Invalid Plug-in License" error message if plugins try to get a license that way:

To activate the login licenses for Power Translators and Power SubD-NURBS licenses you will need to deactivate and reactivate Modo on your machine using the steps below.

NOTE:  If you are using a floating license or nodelocked license for Modo and have either of the plugins then please raise a support ticket via support.foundry.com and the team can look into it for you.

  1. Deactivate Modo from your machine
    • Modo 14.1 and above: Click on Help > Modo Licensing > Advanced > Deauthorise this Device
    • Modo 14.0 and earlier: Click on Help > Modo Licensing > Log Out
More info on deactivating Individual login-based licenses can be found: Q100586: How to deactivate your individual login-based license

  2. Delete the FoundryLicensing and Tokens directory in your home area if it is not empty.
    • Windows
      C:\Users\<USERNAME>\FoundryLicensing\
      C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Foundry\Tokens
    • OSX
      /Users/<USERNAME>/FoundryLicensing/
      /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/ApplicationSupport/Foundry/Tokens
    • Linux
      /Users/<USERNAME>/FoundryLicensing/

      $HOME/.local/share/Foundry/Tokens

(Where <USERNAME> is your log in name)

  3. Launch Modo 14.1 or above and use the Licensing UI to activate it on your machine.  Detailed steps are in: Q100585: How to activate your individual login-based license

Modo and the plugin licenses should now be active on your machine.
