Q100119: Some of the Furnace plug-ins that appeared in earlier versions of NukeX are no longer in the Furnace nodes menu in newer versions.

SYMPTOMS

Some of the Furnace plug-ins that appeared in earlier versions of NukeX are no longer in the Furnace nodes menu in newer versions.  Where did they go?

CAUSE

There were originally 12 Furnace plug-in nodes incorporated into NukeX when it was added to the Nuke 6.0 family of products. As of the current Nuke version, there are 6 FurnaceCore nodes which still have the names of the original Furnace nodes.  The 6 were absorbed into NukeX and renamed, but they are still there.

RESOLUTION

The original plug-ins, by their Furnace names, that were included in NukeX 6.0 were:

F_Align
F_Steadiness
F_DeFlicker2
F_DeGrain
F_ReGrain
F_DeNoise
F_Kronos
F_MotionBlur
F_VectorGenerator
F_MatchGrade
F_RigRemoval
F_WireRemoval

As of NukeX 12.2, the ones that were no longer named 'F_<something>' are:

F_DeGrain and F_Denoise were replaced by Denoise (Filter > Denoise) in Nuke 6.3, and Denoise2 in Nuke 11.0.
F_Kronos was replaced by Kronos (Time > Kronos) in Nuke 7.0.
F_MotionBlur was replaced by MotionBlur (Filter > MotionBlur) in Nuke 7.0.
F_VectorGenerator was replaced by VectorGenerator (Time > VectorGenerator) in
Nuke 7.0.
F_Matchgrade was replaced by Matchgrade in Nuke8.0

In NukeX, six plug-ins retain their original names:

F_Align
F_Steadiness
F_DeFlicker2
F_ReGrain
F_RigRemoval
F_WireRemoval

In the NukeX GUI you can still find the 6  'F_<something>' plug-ins using the left hand toolbar gray FurnaceCore icon, or by pressing TAB then typing F_:
