Q100025: Changing the directory for standard content via the Command Line

This is a guide to set the path of the content and assets in the command line. This will load any content, assets, or kits located in the specified directory rather than from your default content directory.

  1. Open the Command Prompt.
  2. Launch Modo with the following command:
C:\Program Files\Foundry\Modo\<Version>\.exe "-path:content=<PATH>"

Where "Version" is the version of Modo you wish to launch, and "Path" is the path containing the content you wish to load. For example:

C:\Program Files\Foundry\Modo\16.0v4\modo.exe "-path:content=C:\Users\User\Content"

  1. Open the Terminal.
  2. Launch Modo with the following command:
/Applications/modo.app/Contents/MacOS/modo "-path:content=/Users/User/Documents/Content"
